God Knows Beforehand

HE DOES HAVE A PLAN!

How often we can wonder what God has in store for us!

In our struggles we question, “God what are You doing with me?” All we see is “the same old, same old”! We struggle and wonder is there any way out of our dilemma. Is there any hope on the horizon?

Well, here’s some things I’m discovering. (It’s stuff I already knew, yet didn’t, if you know what I mean.) That is, God DOES have a plan. So when things look grim, here’s something to remember. God hasn’t forgotten!

Remember the things I have done in the past.
For I alone am God!
I am God, and there is none like me.
Only I can tell you the future before it even happens.
Everything I plan will come to pass, for I do whatever I wish.
(Isaiah 46:9-10, NLT)

God’s encouragement to Jeremiah, the prophet:

“I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb.
Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations.” (Jeremiah 1:5, NLT)

And God plan for His people, Israel:

This is what the Lord says: “You will be in Babylon for seventy years. But then I will come and do for you all the good things I have promised, and I will bring you home again. For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me. I will be found by you,” says the Lord. “I will end your captivity and restore your fortunes. I will gather you out of the nations where I sent you and will bring you home again to your own land.” (Jeremiah 29:10-14, NLT)

And here’s some hope for us:

And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son, so that his Son would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. And having chosen them, he called them to come to him. And having called them, he gave them right standing with himself. And having given them right standing, he gave them his glory. (Romans 8:28-30, NLT)

For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. (Ephesians 2:10, NLT)

And here’s something to remember when you pray:

When you pray, don’t babble on and on as people of other religions do. They think their prayers are answered merely by repeating their words again and again. Don’t be like them, for your Father knows exactly what you need even before you ask him! (Matthew 6:7-8, NLT)

You know what I am going to say even before I say it, Lord. (Psalm 139:4, NLT)

I find that wonderfully reassuring, that even though I don’t know what is ahead, my God does and He has a plan. And to know that He knew all that even before He made me! That is mind blowing!! WOW!!

And here’s an old song that Elvis Presley sang:

Known only to Him are the great hidden secrets
I’ll fear not the darkness when my flame shall dim.
I know not what the future holds
But I know who holds the future,
It’s a secret known only to Him.

In this world of fear and doubt
On my knees I ask the question
Why a lonely, heavy cross I must bear
The He tells me in my prayer
It’s because I am trustworthy
He gives me strength for more than my share.

Known only to Him are the great hidden secrets
I’ll fear not the darkness when my flame shall dim.
I know not what the future holds
But I know who holds the future,
It’s a secret known only to Him.
