WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD!!! (Written on Monday, 15th January!)
Hey, lying in bed this morning, that’s what I heard… Louis Armstrong singing “What a Wonderful World”.
And then I got thinking about how I was feeling….. SATISFIED!!…. I’d achieved this weekend what I’d set out to achieve. But in a way, I was starting to feel a bit lost, with nothing pressing to do. And then I got thinking again about how God felt when He finished creating the world….
“Then God saw everything He had made, and INDEED it was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
“Thus the heavens and the earth, and all the hosts of them, were FINISHED.
“And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done. Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made.”
(Genesis 1:31-2:3, NKJ)
So it occurred to me, I was feeling God’s feelings of satisfaction at a job well done. And now?? REST!!!
And then I read my Psalms and I was up to Psalm 103……
“Bless the Lord, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless His holy name!
Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits.” (v1-2)
So there ya’ go!! Boy, it feel strange though!!
Anyhow, all I can say is “REJOICE!!!”
